Transforming School Travel in Jaffna! 🚌✨

We are proud to announce that LIVE U (Pvt) Ltd. has successfully installed the innovative digital technology powering Sri Lanka's first digitally enabled "Sisu Seriya" school bus service! 🇱🇰📱

This ground-breaking service was officially launched this morning at the Kodikamam Central Bus Stand in Jaffna, with the vital objective of ensuring the safe and secure transportation of our school children.

How does the LIVE U digital system enhance safety?

Each student is issued a digital smart card registered with their details and their parents' mobile numbers.

• Boarding Alert: When a student taps their card on the digital scanner upon boarding, parents receive an immediate SMS with the boarding time.

• Alighting Alert: Similarly, when they alight and scan again, parents are instantly notified of the disembarkation time.

This provides parents with real-time updates and significantly boosts peace of mind regarding their children’s commute.

The "Sisu Seriya" service, which offers students and teachers transportation at half the normal fare (subsidized by the Government), is now operational on two routes from Usan: Usan to Jaffna and Usan to Point Pedro, thanks to the full cooperation of the Private Bus Owners' Association.

We are particularly commended that this innovative digital initiative has been implemented entirely at the private expense of the bus owner – a shining example of private-sector dedication to student welfare.

The inaugural event was organized by the Northern Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authority and attended by distinguished guests, including the Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, Hon. R. Chandrasekhar, and Member of Parliament, Hon. K. Ilankumaran, who jointly inaugurated the service.

This is just the beginning! Following recent launches in Vavuniya and today in Jaffna, authorities indicate plans to expand this program across the Northern Province in the future.
